Coram
Deo Academy
Goals for 2003-2004
September, 2003
The short
term goals of Coram Deo Academy grow out of and help to implement
our mission, vision and core values. They are designed to experience
some adjustment year by year as the CDA Strategic Plan is developed
and improved over time.
Mission:
Coram
Deo Academy exists to transform the minds of Christian youth
and their parents so they live all of life before God. We partner
with parents to inculcate a comprehensive and historic Christian
Faith, a biblical world and life view that with God’s
mercy will gradually reshape western culture for the glory of
God. We accomplish this through classical education in the presence
of God that is professionally executed and personal in its nurture.

Transforming Vision
Vision:
We envision
thousands of Christian youth trained over time in a biblical
worldview through a system of Coram Deo Academy campuses in
the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Core
Values:
Coram
Deo Academy is classical and Christian; professional and personal

Statement of Core Values
Goals:
Coram
Deo Academy’s short term goals include qualitative classroom
development, improving our personal approach, formalizing our
strategic plan, starting an annual gifting campaign and launching
Coram Deo Academy of North Dallas.
-
Strive
for qualitative improvement in every classroom.
-
Provide continuing education for classroom faculty and parent
educators through a quarterly publication, seminars lead by
our college of faculty, guest lecturers, conferences and advanced
study.
-
Emphasize
a more personal approach to relationships with families; both
communicating from school to home and listening to input from
CDA families.
-
Formalize
a strategic plan in conjunction with a planning advisory team
consisting of representatives from the CDA Board, faculty
and staff and parent constituency.
-
Begin an annual gifting campaign to support short term goals
and the strategic plan that is chaired by a different CDA
parent each year.
-
Tuition
and fees at Coram Deo Academy are set to provide for quality
year to year operation of our classical and Christian program.
In order to afford important accoutrements, extension of the
Academy to reach additional families and ownership of a campus
CDA seeks to develop a culture of giving and a base of support
to meet our goals.
-
Select
the first chairperson of the annual Coram Deo Academy gift
campaign to raise funds to advance the strategic plan and
goals of CDA.
-
Define
the categories and financial goals that are reasonable during
the first year with some revision each year.
- Providing
for Pillars: Funding long term retention and enrichment
of outstanding faculty to advance the educational program
of CDA. Provide this through seminars, advanced studies
and time provision for exceptional faculty to reach a
broader audience through writing, publishing and public
speaking.
- Funding Student
Financial Aid: Providing any qualifying family who needs
help to continue the education of their children at CDA
during temporary financial hardship.
- Funding development
of excellent science laboratory, fine arts studio, dramatic
and multimedia facilities and equipment that cannot be
supported through tuition.
- Begin a Booster
Club to raise additional funds for better athletic equipment,
additional buses for transportation and improved access
to sports facilities.
- Coram Deo
Academy Extension: Raise funds to extend the ministry
of Coram Deo Academy to other regions in the DFW Metroplex.
The first of these additional campuses is scheduled to
open in 2004 as Coram Deo
Academy of North Dallas.
-
If
the strategic plan calls for purchase of land and development
of a campus then a capital campaign would be started with
well defined goals in addition to an annual gifting campaign
for the kinds of things addressed above.
