The luncheon will be a catered event held in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church at 12:00 noon on May 17th. If you would like us to invite a pastor or home school association leader you know, please send me their address as soon as possible.

Dallas School Update

Dear Dallas Parents,

Here are the latest updates for your Dallas Campus:

Dallas School Pre-K Program??? - We are seriously considering adding a Pre-K program to the Dallas School for the 2006-2007 school year. If you may be interested in the possibility of enrolling your children in a Pre-K-4 or K-3 program, please contact me at jfox@coramdeoacademy.org.

1st Annual Dallas Open Golf Tournament - Please let me know if you have an interest in playing golf for our school as a fundraising and marketing activity. I am working on the plans for a tournament in late May or early June with Mr. Tim Brown (golf pro at the Eldorado). I am also taking suggestions on possible courses. Please let me know if you have a favorite course that you recommend. Mr. Brown has indicated that he will assist us wherever we decide to play. If you are interested in participating or if you have a suggestion on a possible course, please email me at jfox@coramdeoacademy.org. It's okay if you can't play well. I'm playing, and I'm certain you can't be any worse than me. Mr. Marshall will also be playing.

Dallas School Luncheon - We would like to invite local area pastors, ministry leaders, business leaders, etc. to a luncheon to be held at the  Dallas School. The purpose of this luncheon is to announce the opening of the new school and to develop new relationships within the community. If you know a pastor, business leader, etc. who might be interested in hearing about Coram Deo Academy and the new Dallas School, please provide me with contact information (preferably a mailing address). I would love to invite them to this luncheon.

Information Meeting - The next Information Meeting at the Dallas School will be on April 10th beginning at 7:00PM. Please invite your interested friends.

God bless you,

Joseph Fox

Director

Come and Hear About the Most Exciting New School in Dallas

Dear Dallas Parents and Friends,

Information Meeting - We look forward to a wonderful time of sharing on Monday evening, March 13, beginning at 7:00PM as we will be holding another New Family Information Meeting at the Dallas School. Please tell your friends about the opportunity to hear about the most exciting new school in Dallas - Coram Deo Academy of Dallas. Mrs. Marshall and Mr. Fox will be giving the presentation followed by a time of great Christian fellowship. Veteran Coram Deo parents will be available to answer questions about our school from a parent's perspective and several of our current faculty will also be on hand to field grade-specific-questions. If you are interested in hearing about the ministry of Coram Deo Academy, please plan to attend. Everyone is welcome!

Golf Tournament - If you are a golfer, have deluded yourself into thinking you are a golfer, or even if you know that you are a grounds crew's greatest nightmare (e.g. Mr. Fox), please contact Mr. Fox (jfox@coramdeoacademy.org) about the possibility of participating in the first annual CDA of Dallas Open. This golf tournament will be an event to raise awareness and resources for the new school and a time to develop relationships with new friends. There will be more to follow...

Personal Request - As many of you know, I am currently in the data collection stage of my doctoral dissertation. My study is entitled, Evangelical Students in American Higher Education. I am doing my research with evangelical freshmen students currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Texas at Arlington. If you know a Christian student at either one of these schools that would fit my criteria, please let me know at jfox@coramdeoacademy.org. Please pray for me that the Lord will grant me His favor throughout this process.

"The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you, the Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace."

In Christ,

Joseph Fox

New Announcements from Dallas

Dear Parents,

We praise God for the opportunity to serve your family. Please continue to pray for your new school.

Faculty - We are progressing positively towards the start of the new school year. Faculty interviews are going well and we are getting some wonderful applicants. We will announce new faculty hires along with personal bios as they occur. We are so excited about one of our veteran teachers (Mrs. Linda Walter) from our highly successful Flower Mound Campus, who will be transferring to the Dallas School for the 2006-2007 year. Mrs. Walter will likely be teaching our second grade. The following is a brief biographical sketch by Mrs. Walter-

Education - BS in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University

Experience - Elementary teacher in public school for 15 years.
                        American Airlines - 17 years
Covenant Christian Academy, 1st grade - 3 years
                        Coram Deo Academy - 2nd grade - 2 years
Family – I have two sons and four grandchildren, ages - 16, 10, 8, and 6.
My husband and I live in Dallas and attend First Baptist Church of Dallas. We are both members of the choir. He has a Masters in Music; he also has a PHD in Theology. We have only been married for 2 1/2 years.  I was married to my first husband for 36 years until his death.
Hobbies – I love to travel and have had many interesting experiences.  My most recent experience was traveling with Simon and Garfunkel on their tour two summers ago. I never thought I would be a “groupie” at such an old age, especially with them. I'm more of the Bill Gaither type. My husband’s work with Art Garfunkel made this trip possible. The hobby I love most is reading, and I typically read at least two books per week. I love children, and I love doing projects with them and complimenting our curriculum with hands-on activities.
To my new students and their parents…
I am so excited for this next year to begin. Second grade is absolutely the best! Second graders love to learn and to have fun. How exciting it is that we can be the first second grade class in the new school. That will really make us special and you will be proud of that fact when you graduate and can say that you helped start the school in Dallas. I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to teach in Dallas next year. I'm looking forward to meeting my new students and their parents. I expect parents to participate as teachers also. We will be working together. We will communicate often, and we have the common goal of doing what is best for your child.
New Family Information Meeting - The next Information Meeting for the Dallas school will be held on Monday, March 13th beginning at 7:00PM at Trinity. Please let your friends know about the exciting new opportunity for an excellent Classical & Christian education in the great city of Dallas.
