Don’t miss the CDA Bands as they perform their spring concert this Thursday, April 24th. The concert starts in the auditorium at 7:00pm. Come enjoy as the Symphonic Wind Ensemble features their graduating senior, Jack O'Brien, and music from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. The art students will have their masterpieces on display as well. Do not miss this Festival of Arts!

For those students in grades 7-12 interested in becoming a CDA Yell Leader, consider coming to an information meeting Monday, May 5 at 3:30 in room 106. You will find out about the cost, what activities will be held in the summer, uniforms, and practice schedule. We have some very impressive music awards to announce this week.  All three Coram Deo Academy soloists and both the brass quartet and clarinet quartet received "Superior" (division I) ratings.  This is the highest possible rating!  Here is the listing:

Homer and Wright shared House of the Month honors today at the house assembly in Orand Chapel, and Stephen Drew was awarded Citizen of the Month.  Way to go!!  The highlight of the assembly was the induction of the eighth grade class into their houses.  I can’t wait to see you all in high school next year!  Last but not least, the House of Lewis is still leading the point tally for the year, although the margin is narrowing considerably, which is going to make for a very interesting finish in May.

Friday, April 11 will be the final house assembly. We will be tallying points for the last two months, including quarter three academics, winter sports, arts participation, coaches’ top five, and TAPPS/All-Region awards.  In addition, we will be inducting 8th grade students into their new houses. Don’t miss it!!

Our house system spring intramural competition took place today, as the students competed in a  rousing game of bombardment.  Unfortunately, the House of Lewis was bombarded into fourth place, with Wright House taking third, Wallace second, and finally, Homer hitting a homerun with first place. Way to go!!  Our next house assembly will be April 11.  The next big house event will be the Alfred Cup debate competition.  The semifinals will take place April 7 and April 10, and the finals will be held April 28.

Three high school students were awarded Citizen of the Month honors during the house assembly today. Congratulations to Karlie Flanagain, Brice Praslika, and Jeremy Scroggs for displaying the most leadership, initiative, and citizenship by an individual.  The House of Homer took top honors among the houses, as it was awarded House of the Month.  Way to go!

Loose Change to Loosen Chains is a school-wide effort to collect change to donate to International Justice Mission, a non-profit organization that rescues modern-day slaves.  Tomorrow, March 14th, is the last day to donate change for this campaign.  Please bring as much loose change as you can scavenge and bring it to the assembly; the buckets for each house will be passed around at that time.  The house that collects the most change wins a free spirit day.
