Athletics Update

Coram Deo Academy of Flower Mound’s varsity football team is riding a very respectable record of three wins versus only one loss.  Notwithstanding the sterling record, next week’s contest against Shelton School represents the start of the all-important district play, according to head coach Donnie Brake.  This week, the team rested because of a bye in the schedule.

Meanwhile the Junior High team is showing signs of some dominance, as they beat Carrollton Christian Academy 36-0 this week.  Student-athletes Connor Ashburn, Slader Ammons and Walker Nelson ran for touchdowns while Caleb Brake threw two touchdowns to Matthew McKee.  The defense was also quite dominant, led by Josh Elliott, Preston Green and Gunnar James.

The varsity volleyball team is playing well together and the improvements are very evident, as most all games are very close.  Coach Kim Grizzle says the team is looking forward to the second half of district play, holding on to the goal of wining four of the next six games and a strong finish to the season.

New technology incorporated into learning

[Flower Mound, Texas – Sept. 18, 2008]   New technology has been introduced at Coram Deo Academy that gives students the capability to take a quiz and perform other academic exercises from their home campus in a structured system. This allows more time to be spent on instruction, shared inquiry into ideas and the Socratic method at school, with review, study of material and quiz-taking at home.  Upper-level Latin teachers began using the Quia web program this fall.  Other teachers will incorporate the practice into their classes later this year.
