As Virgil said to Dante, "It is the place to start."
With that allusion, and much more, your children will contend
Let this blog be your Virgil, your mentor, and your friend.

Receptions for new families May 15 & 20 and tips for studying at home

Several events are planned to welcome new families into the CDA learning community and help you prepare for the start of school. You may find it helpful to read (or listen to) some thoughts about managing learning at home. Click here for this Classical Educators Training Conference presentation.

New Parent Coffees will be hosted on each campus the morning of Thursday, May 15 for parents of new Carrollton students (preK-8th), Dallas students (preK–5th) and Flower Mound Grammar School students (preK-4th). Start times vary; please see your school director’s blog for specifics about these receptions and upcoming uniform/book sales.

Flower Mound Logic and High Schools New Student Reception will be held 9:30 – 11 AM on Tuesday, May 20. For new students (grades 5-12) and their parents.

The Summer Reading List has been posted. Please see http://www.coramdeoacademy.org/content/bookstore/index.php to view the books your child is assigned to read over the summer. The complete 2008-2009 school year booklist will be available for purchase from Varsitybooks.com next month.

Enriching summer opportunities are available during the month of June at the Carrollton and Flower Mound campuses.  Click here  for more information about CDA’s Summer Program including sports camps.

Orientations are scheduled for the week of August 11. Please plan your vacation time accordingly; these mandatory sessions will help you start the school year off on the right foot! Classes begin August 18 for Mon/Wed and full-time students. Tues/Thurs student have their first day of class on August 19.

Thank you for the opportunity to share in your child’s schooling. It is a joy and a privilege to educate children in the presence of God. If you know of others who may be interested in classical Christian education, please refer them to our website.
