LIONS FIGHT CHAMPS IN SEASON OPENER

[Flower Mound, Texas – Nov. 5, 2008]  Although they didn’t win their season opening varsity basketball game on Nov. 4, the Coram Deo Academy High School of Flower Mound Lions gave their opponents a fight that will not soon be forgotten. Up against the Trinity Christian School Tigers, who were TAPPS state champions in 2007, the Coram Deo Academy Lions gave the Tigers a fight with only an 11 point difference in the final score.

The Tigers tried to control the pace of the game from the start with a series of fast breaks. The CDA Lions quickly responded by taking the lead near the end of the first quarter with a score of 14 to 13.  During the second quarter, the Tigers were on top with a score of 41 to 30, but the Lions never gave up the chase.

After an exciting exchange of five turnovers, the Lions roared back to within eight points of the Tigers with only 1:06 left in the game. Ben Moer led the team in rebounds and free throws, Bronnick Foo led the team in steals and assists, with Andrew Frank, Zack Moer and Tucker Middlebrook close behind in assists and field goals.

The final school was 77-66, in favor of the Tigers. The team is coached by Victor Lemley, Coram Deo Academy High School of Flower Mound dean of students.
