SACS Accreditation Visit Overview:
On Wednesday we had a team of professionals on campus taking a careful look at every aspect of our academy. This group included a former superintendent of the DISD along with the current DISD Director of Activities. Suffice it to say that the people examining us had a great deal of experience and expertise in the field. I knew their input would be valuable. This group spent the day pouring over documents prepared by our accreditation team over the last year. They also interviewed teachers, administrators, parents and students. In addition, they examined our web site, literature, curriculum and everything else they could find. At the end of a long day, the team met with lead administrators to convey their findings. They were very complimentary of CDA. It was heartening to hear of their experiences through the day as they spoke with so many individuals. Everyone had such encouraging words and helpful suggestions. The team whole heartedly recommended CDA of Carrollton for initial SACS accreditation.
I wish to thank the many individuals who prayed for this effort and contributed in so many ways. People brought food for the team, allowed themselves to be interviewed, served on teams and much more. Teachers and students diligently prepared and staff worked extra hours in set-up. It truly was a team effort and I wish to thank everyone involved.

I have a very special announcement! Ms. Sandra Hooper has agreed to take on the coaching duties here at CDA of Carrollton. She will coach volleyball and basketball. If any of you know Ms. Hooper, you know that she has a great deal of expertise and experience as a coach. In fact, she has already coached many CDA students in outside organizations. She will certainly lead our girls in a very positive direction as she instructs them in the classroom and on the court.
