Elective Enrollment:
You have until May 1st to register for elective classes at the current price of $395. We have some excellent choices and many new offerings. Be sure to take advantage. Please be especially mindful of our excellent period seven (after school) offerings. If you want PE, want to get a jump on homework, need a lab, etc. be sure to register right away for period seven offerings.
If you have a sibling who will not be at CDA until later, Friday electives are a good way to transition into the program. This is also true for a home schooled friend. If you have other children or friends who would benefit from Friday electives, drop by the office and pick up some information.
Athletics:
Please also register for athletic participation right away. We have some fine opportunities there so be sure to register now. This will really help us with scheduling, uniforms and other items for which we need to plan. Also, don’t worry about registering early. If you are injured through the summer or in another sport, we certainly won’t charge you for the elective if you can not participate.
Award Ceremonies:
The ceremonies will be held on the 12th and 13th of May. All M/W students will be on the 12th while T/Th students will attend on the 13th. All students will arrive at school at the normal time of 8:00am. We will have some closure with teachers and a bit of rehearsal time for the ceremonies. The actual awards ceremonies will begin at 10:00am on each morning and will normally last until about 11:30am. There will be a short time of fellowship in the gym following the ceremonies where we will have some cookies and drinks. Students are dismissed for the summer after the ceremonies. Be sure to check with your teacher to see if anything needs to be picked up from the classrooms.
**Students will wear their normal uniforms for the award ceremonies.
Spring Festival of the Arts:
Our spring festival will be this coming Friday at 10:00am. Students in the program should arrive by 9:00am.
Spring Theatre Performance:
Join us at 7:00pm on Tuesday the 6th here at The Rock. The class will present a very entertaining and humorous play entitled “The Beggar and the Wolf.” I know everyone will enjoy it so make plans to attend this free event.
All School Picnic:
May 9th will be a great day of fun and food. Make sure you have plans to attend and to bring whatever items your grade level is assigned.
New Parents Coffee:
If you are a new parent or have a new student at CDA or perhaps just want to get a jump on the summer, be sure to attend our NEW PARENTS COFFEE on May 15th. We will start at 10:00am with a general session and then dismiss to classrooms where parents can visit wit teachers. You can receive information on summer preparation, summer reading, and general classroom information.
Used uniform and book sale:
We will have the used uniform and book sale this year. Please look out for the official date and time.
Summer Camps:
Be sure to register now for summer camps and activities. We have some really fun choices such as chess, dissecting, theatre, technology, cultural and historic tours and athletics. Register on line or come by the office. You can even bring a friend as these camps are open to all.
