Used Uniform & Book Sale
Where: The ROCK Building—CDA Carrollton
2435 E. Hebron Parkway, Carrollton 75010
When: Monday, June 30th from 10:00-12:00
Overview:
· Items are sold by many different individuals, so you will need to pay each individual separately. Bring lots of $1 and $5 bills as well as checks. There will NOT be a change table, so PLEASE plan accordingly.
· You must have all items ready for sale BEFORE dropping them off in the gym. You may bring your items for sale between 8:30-9:30 a.m. 
     Please see the “Preparation for Selling” document for details.
· There will be tables designated throughout the gym for clothing and textbooks, organized by grade level (books) and sizes (clothing).
· No NON-CDA items will be allowed in this sale.
· NO OUTSIDE BAGS of any kind will be allowed inside the gym during the sale. We highly discourage the use of strollers unless absolutely necessary.
· Bring all items for purchase up to the Finance Table to complete sale.
     Please see “Purchasing” document for complete details.
· You will not be allowed to re-enter the sale area with any prior purchases. Please take all paid items to your vehicle before returning to the sale area.
· You must return to pick up any non-purchased items and to receive your own money between 12:00-1:00 that same day. All items that are not picked up before 1:00 that afternoon will be donated. If having someone else pick up your money and/or items not sold, please send a written “release” with your signature on it and that person’s name.

Preparation for Selling, Purchasing, Drop-off and Pick-Up
 
Preparation of CLOTHING:
1.      Please make sure all items are clean and neatly folded.  No NON-CDA items allowed.
2.      Tag each item separately with an envelope that contains the following information labeled on the             FLAP SIDE of the envelope: (See example below)
·        Brief description: shirt, shorts, skort, pants, etc., short sleeve, long sleeve, etc. Please note if there are any stains, holes, tears etc., so the buyer is fully aware of what they are purchasing.
·        Size: Make sure you note on the size description whether it is a Little Kids Boy or Girl S,M,L, or Big Kids S, M, L, as well as Husky, Regular, or Slim cut. 
·        Price: Only whole dollar amounts…no cents, please (i.e., $5, not $5.50)
·        Acceptable Payment Type – mark Check Only, Cash Only or Check or Cash
·        Name of seller and phone number (where you can be reached if needed)
  1. Secure an envelope on each item being sold with the flap side out. This is the side that should be marked with all of your information.
Note: You are free to charge whatever you think is appropriate, but a general guideline is:
Pants $7-$10    Shorts/Skorts/Skirts $5-$10    Shirts $3-$10    Sweaters $7-$10     Jackets/Coats $10-$20

Preparation for TEXTBOOKS:
Textbooks: Attach an envelope to each item with the following information:
  • Book Title
  • How many are in the set
  • Items in the set
  • Grade Level
  • Price and acceptable payment (Check, Cash Only or Check/Cash)
  • Your name
  • Your Phone number

  • No books priced under a dollar and only in dollar increments. (No change.)
  •  If selling a set of books, rubber band, tie, or place the set in a clear plastic Ziplock bag so that people can examine them. 
  • No NON-CDA Curriculum books will be allowed at this sale.
  • Copies of copyrighted material will not be accepted.
  • We reserve the right not to accept any item that is inappropriate for our sale.
  • All Sales are Final.
  • Although every effort will be made to protect your sale items, we can not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
 
To drop off:
  • You may drop off once your items are prepared as indicated above. 
  • You may drop off your items during the designated drop-off times only (8:30-9:30 the day of the sale).
  • All items must be prepared BEFORE the sale. You will not be allowed to enter the sale with any items. This is to insure everyone is given the same opportunity to both sale their items and to purchase items fairly.
 
To Pick up:
  • Pick up unsold items and money from 12:00 – 1:00 pm on the day of the sale. Please do not come before this time as we need time to get everything sorted and ready for pick up.
  1. Pick up your books and check them to be sure they are yours. 
  2. If you have someone else picking up for you, you must have a signed release stating that person’s name and your permission for them to pick up. We will collect these releases and file for our protection.
  3. The sales table will have your money envelopes ready for you or your designated person when you show ID.
  4. If you have a missing book/item, please tell a committee member immediately so others can look though their books to see if it was misplaced. We will not be able to help once you take the items home.
Please be patient and this part should go fairly fast! It is very important that you come back! Remember we can only give out your money and unsold items to you or your alternate!
 
 
Instructions for Purchasing
 
  • Find the items you want. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE SETS APART.
  • RETURN unwanted items to the CORRECT table immediately.
  • Place money or check in the envelopes, but DO NOT SEAL OR REMOVE THE ENVELOPE!                (We will check each envelope to make sure that the amount is correct before sealing)
  • Please bring lots of $1 & $5 bills! We will not have change available.
  • Bring all items up to the finance tables for final pay-out.
  • Take all paid items to your vehicle. You will not be allowed to re-enter the sale with any items.
  • Prices are non-negotiable at the sale.
