Quality Assurance Report is now posted for your review.
This is the report put together by the team of educators who visited our campus back in April. It includes several commendations and helpful recommendations. We have already made significant progress with the recommendations. The new science curriculum has been implemented, the facility is closer to more permanence, we are in discussions regarding a high school and our curriculum team is being formed with representation from various grade levels. I hope you will take time to review the report and see where we will be making improvements as well as the areas commended by SACS.
You can find the document and updates on campus improvement in the “School Improvement” section of the CDA web site.
Campus Improvements update:
We are moving along with fundraising for the new classrooms and expansion. People are also giving money for a new Collin County location. All of this is really exciting, but we are not there yet. We need each of you to help in the best way you can. These things do cost a great deal of money yet they are important to all of us. Please be sure to get your commitment form to us ASAP so that we can move forward with confidence. I am having discussions with several families regarding high school expansion and will have more information for all of you soon. However, we will not have the expansion space without the additional classrooms and future plans. Remember that you can give a one time donation or stipulate a monthly amount for the remainder of the budget year (through June). Again, no amount is insignificant, we need everyone to join the team on this one and invite the grandparents to do the same. I am praying for the Lord to show us the way, provide the resources for all of us and to give us the courage to act boldly!
Volleyball:
The Lady Lions are still undefeated. However, we have a tough match on Monday at 5:00pm. The Ladies will take on Canyon Creek in a match that may decide the league title for the regular season. The Lions won a close one in their first contest against CCCA so I know they will need all our support for this one. Come on out. Admission is just $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for students. We should have new t-shirts available on Monday as well. They will be $15.00. I can’t wait!!! Go Lady Lions!!
Football:
Come on out to Coppell tonight to the Lions play Dallas Prep. You can get a map to the facility by going to the athletics section of the CDA web site. You can look on the calendar there for time, directions, etc. The varsity will play at 7:30pm tonight. By the way, there is a “world famous” concessions stand at these games. The flame grilled burgers and dogs are second to none!
Remember the Health Screenings for Monday / Tuesday
You can come in and complete the form and pay on those mornings. Not all students will need the screenings, but this is a great way to get it done if you need one of the required screenings.
Spirit Days:
Wear your CDA t-shirts or purchase one next week. Spirit Days will be on Wednesday and Thursday. These are good days to show your LION SPIRIT! Go Lions!!!
Have a great weekend. I look forward to a great week of classical and Christian education.
In Christ,
Scott Davis
