New Announcements from Dallas

Dear Parents,

We praise God for the opportunity to serve your family. Please continue to pray for your new school.

Faculty - We are progressing positively towards the start of the new school year. Faculty interviews are going well and we are getting some wonderful applicants. We will announce new faculty hires along with personal bios as they occur. We are so excited about one of our veteran teachers (Mrs. Linda Walter) from our highly successful Flower Mound Campus, who will be transferring to the Dallas School for the 2006-2007 year. Mrs. Walter will likely be teaching our second grade. The following is a brief biographical sketch by Mrs. Walter-

Education - BS in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University

Experience - Elementary teacher in public school for 15 years.
                        American Airlines - 17 years
Covenant Christian Academy, 1st grade - 3 years
                        Coram Deo Academy - 2nd grade - 2 years
Family – I have two sons and four grandchildren, ages - 16, 10, 8, and 6.
My husband and I live in Dallas and attend First Baptist Church of Dallas. We are both members of the choir. He has a Masters in Music; he also has a PHD in Theology. We have only been married for 2 1/2 years.  I was married to my first husband for 36 years until his death.
Hobbies – I love to travel and have had many interesting experiences.  My most recent experience was traveling with Simon and Garfunkel on their tour two summers ago. I never thought I would be a “groupie” at such an old age, especially with them. I'm more of the Bill Gaither type. My husband’s work with Art Garfunkel made this trip possible. The hobby I love most is reading, and I typically read at least two books per week. I love children, and I love doing projects with them and complimenting our curriculum with hands-on activities.
To my new students and their parents…
I am so excited for this next year to begin. Second grade is absolutely the best! Second graders love to learn and to have fun. How exciting it is that we can be the first second grade class in the new school. That will really make us special and you will be proud of that fact when you graduate and can say that you helped start the school in Dallas. I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to teach in Dallas next year. I'm looking forward to meeting my new students and their parents. I expect parents to participate as teachers also. We will be working together. We will communicate often, and we have the common goal of doing what is best for your child.
New Family Information Meeting - The next Information Meeting for the Dallas school will be held on Monday, March 13th beginning at 7:00PM at Trinity. Please let your friends know about the exciting new opportunity for an excellent Classical & Christian education in the great city of Dallas.
