Dr. Traci Heitschmidt is speaking to CDA parents and first grade students at 1:30pm in the Fireside Room on Thursday, April 17 about her recent trip to Africa. She is sharing slides and stories that will bring the Egyptian landscape alive and provide an overview about the extravagance of Ramses and the subsequent fall from favor. Please plan to join us for an hour on Thursday afternoon to learn more about the culture of Egypt.
CORAM DEO OPEN
Parents, high school students and community members are invited to play golf in the Coram Deo Academy Open, May 1, at the Golf Club at Castle Hills in Lewisville. Families will receive a brochure this week; for more information visit http://coramdeoacademy.org/content/development/golf.php . There are several ways to participate:
1) Sign up to play golf -- pay the entry fee
2) Raise funds from others (sample letters are provided) and play golf for free or
3) Solicit involvement from businesses to bring a team or be a sponsor.
Proceeds from the event will be divided among all the CDA campuses to provide for technology, buses, recreation/playground equipment, athletics, and campus development and expansion.

FAMILY FIELD TRIP DAY FOR FRIDAY CLASS STUDENTS
All Friday class students and their families are invited to meet their Friday teachers at the Dallas Museum of Art at 11 am on Friday, May 9, 2008. We will tour the museum and afterward have a sack lunch in the sculpture garden. Students will have a chance to become acquainted (or re-acquainted) with the collection and to also participate in the other family friendly opportunities available at the museum.
In order to facilitate this event, we need to provide the Museum staff with a head count of all who plan to attend and must have your confirmation notice by Friday, April 18th. Student and chaperone attendance is free; and siblings are welcome. We ask all *parents of Friday class students to join us as chaperones for this special event. Parking is available in the Museum garage for $5 per car.*Parents or an adult assigned by the parent must attend with children.
Please note: This event is optional and there are no Friday classes for Grammar School students at the school on Friday, May 9, 2008. Everyone meets at the Dallas Museum of Art; bus transportation from the school is not available.

CDA CARROLLTON ACCREDITATION
A team of peer reviewers from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), lead by Dr. Judy Johnston, will visit the Carrollton campus next Wednesday, April 16h. This is the culmination of work that began shortly after the Flower Mound accreditation visit last year. We ask your prayers for our friends in Carrollton, that their efforts at improvement will succeed for the glory of God.
ANNUAL CDA UNIFORM SALE
A donation box is located in the school’s lobby to collect gently worn CDA clothing for our annual school uniform sale. Thank you for your donations and please make plans to attend the sale 11:00am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, May 15th in the Grammar School Building. CDA SUMMER CLASSES
Registrations for our June summer classes are now available using your family login at the CDA website. These interactive classes will provide children a fun and educational way to spend summer hours learning new things. Register your children and encourage them to bring a friend too. Registration is open to CDA families and the community.
