The Grammar School Awards Ceremonies are held on the last day of school. The last day of school for MW students is on Monday, May 12th and for TT students is on Tuesday, May 13th. During the Awards Ceremony the Kindergarten through fourth grades will be recognized for their academic endeavors and each child will receive a blue and gold Scholarship ribbon. The ribbons have a card attached to it for parents to document their child’s name, grade, and cumulative class average.
The following schedule will assist you in planning for the day’s events. Please note that the Grammar School dismisses following the Awards Ceremony at 12:00 PM and all the students will be released to go home at that time.
Schedule for Monday, May 12th and Tuesday, May 13th:
8:30AM Students arrive for class
*10:30 -12:00PM Parents return to campus for the Awards Ceremony
Noon Students are dismissed to go home with their parents
*Parents, siblings, and grandparents are invited to attend the 10:30 a.m. Awards Ceremony in the auditorium.
FAMILY FIELD TRIP DAY FOR FRIDAY CLASS STUDENTS
All Friday class students and their families are invited to meet their Friday teachers at the Dallas Museum of Art at 11am on Friday, May 9, 2008. We will tour the museum and afterward have a sack lunch in the sculpture garden. Students will have a chance to become acquainted (or re-acquainted) with the collection and to also participate in the other family friendly opportunities available at the museum.
Student and chaperone attendance is free; and siblings are welcome. We ask all *parents of Friday class students to join us as chaperones for this special event. Parking is available in the Museum garage for $5 per car. Please Note: *Parents or an adult assigned by the parent must attend with children.
This event is optional and there are no Friday classes for Grammar School students at the school on Friday, May 9, 2008. Everyone meets at the Dallas Museum of Art; bus transportation from the school is not available.
CORAM DEO CAFÉ & NEW PARENT COFFEE
The Café is combining their meeting with the New Parent Coffee for the month of May. The Coram Deo Café and the New Parent Coffee will be held in the Fireside Room in the Grammar building at 9:30am -10:30am on Thursday, May 15th.
UNIFORM & USED SUMMER BOOK SALE
The annual CDA uniform sale has added used summer books to the inventory this year. A donation box is located in the school’s lobby to collect gently worn CDA clothing and summer reading books. Thank you for your donations and please make plans to attend the sale from 11:00am to 12:30pm on Thursday, May 15th. CDA SUMMER CLASSES
Registrations for our June summer classes are now available using your family login at the CDA website. These interactive classes will provide children a fun and educational way to spend summer hours learning new things. Register your children and encourage them to bring a friend too. Registration is open to CDA families and the community.
