Because of scheduling conflicts, the date for the Alfred Cup Debate has changed. We are skipping the semifinals competition and going straight to the championship, which will be held April 28. We are combining houses for this great event. It will be the House of Lewis and the House of Wallace matched up against the House of Homer and the House of Wright. The debate will begin at

Lady Lions Take 6-5 Thriller Over Faith Christian, Stay in First Place in District
CARROLLTON, TX -- April 1, 2008 -- With the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, Liz DeOtte ripped a single to center field, driving in the tying and winning runs, as the Lady Lions (11-1, 2-0) defeated Faith Christian, 6-5. The stirring comeback victory was the Lady Lions' first-ever victory over Faith Christian, a perennial TAPPS softball power, and moved the Lady Lions to 2-0 in District play. After yielding three runs in the top of the seventh inning, to fall behind 5-4, the Lady Lions' Hannah Hicks led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center field. Next, Jessica Gregory was hit by a pitch and Alex Whitby bunted her way on, to load the bases, setting the stage for Miss DeOtte's heroics . . . Ball game!! As is becoming their habit, the Lady Lions scored first, this time on Lailee LaBarbera's first-inning RBI double to the fence in left field. In the fourth inning, Miss Whitby extended the Lady Lions' lead to 4-1, belting a two-run home run that landed well beyond the center field fence (no April Fool's joke here).
