Weekly Highlights
SPRING FESTIVAL of the ARTS – Thursday evening at our new Wichita Trails campus we celebrate the Fine Arts at 7:00pm. Performances include our Classical Guitarists, the Speech/Debate team, exhibitions from our Visual Artists and of course the CDA Wind Ensemble. Join us for this fun and educational evening of the Arts.
AWARDS – This week we sent a letter home with each student so you would be sure to plan on attending any or all of the CDA year-end awards ceremonies in which your students may be participating.
- 7th and 8th grade students will have their own awards presentation this year. Parents and students are invited to the Highland Village (Upper School) campus during your child’s last day of school (May 8th for M/W or May 9th for T/Th) at 1:30 pm both days. Certificates for Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude will be awarded and there will be a brief ceremony to recognize the achievements and advancement of all students. Students will be dismissed for the year after this ceremony.
- Athletics Award Banquet will be held at the Wichita Campus Gymnasium on Friday, May 5th at 6:00pm. Tickets are $6.00 each and may be purchased from Coach Brake. Dinner will be served and former Dallas Cowboy’s kicker Chris Boniol will be the guest of honor. The focus of this banquet is athletics, but attendance is open to any CDA family.
- 9th – 12th grade awards for Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude will be presented as part of our high school awards and commencement ceremony. This ceremony will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Celebrations (banquet facility right next door to Highland Village Upper School). This year our commencement speaker is Chad Hennings.
Each of these events appears on the CDA calendar and we would be happy to answer any questions you have regarding them. Please feel free to contact Ellen Perry, Coach Donnie Brake, or me via e-mail or call the Upper School office at: (972) 318-5222. We have had a wonderful year and we are looking forward to seeing all of our parents and families at these awards programs.
