Dear Parents,
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
I am very sorry to announce that we did not complete all of the necessary construction items required for our occupancy permit today. The next opportunity to do so is Monday. I am aware of all that needs to be done prior to that inspection and feel confident we will receive our C.O. (Certificate of Occupancy) on Monday. We will then need to move-in to our classrooms and as such, we are canceling high school classes (9-12th only) for Monday and Tuesday of next week.
I knew there was some risk involved when we decided to move-out of the Highland Village building. I accept responsibility for what I still believe was a reasonable risk given the condition of that building. I pray you will be patient with us during this transition and look forward to seeing you all for classes beginning Wednesday (September 13th) at 8am.
We sent a package of information home with each family with a nameplate for carlines and some additional information about the drop-off and pick-up procedures. We will have a few procedural changes in the new building (backpacks, lunch, etc.) that we will announce to the students first thing Wednesday and Thursday at our scheduled assembly.
We can still use available helpers on Tuesday as we set-up classrooms. I am asking volunteers to arrive at 9am, but no sooner so the K-8th students may begin their day as usual.
