Finishing 2006 Well
Dear Parents,

Blessings to you from the Lord and greetings from the faculty and staff of CDA. Please take a moment to review the following items of interest:

Weekly Highlights

WHEN I LOOK BACK at the changes that have taken place in the last 12 months I am astounded. We have come a long way as a school. But we have just a few more miles to go before we sleep. All of our high school students have important exams in the next week and we must all do our part to remind them to finish well.

NEXT FRIDAY December 15th will be needed to make-up four high school classes that we missed during our move. Here is the list of classes that will meet next Friday:

Biology Lab                   All Periods
Calculus                        3rd Period
Chemistry Lab               3rd & 4th Periods
Latin ½                         4th Period

No other classes will meet that day.

OTHER COMING EVENTS and important dates on the calendar:

·         Saturday Morning Prayer – See “INVITATION TO PRAYER” below
·         Make-up Friday – December 15th – See “NEXT FRIDAY” above.
·         Christmas Break – December 16th through January 2nd

ANNUAL GIVING – You should have received a letter from Coram Deo Academy President Rodney Marshall, inviting you to share resources and make a contribution.  Please do not hesitate to telephone Louise Henry, CDA development director, at 800.465.0561 x 166, if you have any questions about contributions.

INVITATION TO PRAY – As we make plans and work to develop our Flower Mound campus, we seek God’s direction.  We invite you to join us in prayer, both in your own home at your own time and together on Saturday mornings. The next gathering is tomorrow (Dec. 9) then resuming Saturday’s after the Christmas break beginning again Jan. 6.

Prospective families may attend this program even if they are interested in another CDA location. Reservations may be made by emailing brogers@coramdeoacademy.org or calling 682-237-0232.

TUITION ASSISTANCE – We are now taking tuition assistance applications for 2007-2008 school year. Awards are available for re-enrolling families only and are based on financial need. For more information on the application process please go to http://coramdeoacademy.org/content/admission/tuitionassistletter.php

CCA FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS – This is the last week to make donations to the annual CCA food pantry drive. Collection boxes are in Auditorium Foyer.

CDA STUDENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT- I am happy to pass along information about Coram Deo student involvement in other community activities; please send me an e-mail for inclusion.

  • Adam Drennan was featured as a “Good Kid” in the Dallas Morning News last weekend. Read the article online at: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/city/denton/flowermound/stories/DN-dengoodkid_03wes.ART.West.Edition1.3ddc3b8.html
  • Melissa Hockman was the winner of the People’s Choice Arts Award for her work, Rangers Game. We appreciate all of the student art and have enjoyed displaying it in the halls this semester.
  • Last Saturday (December 2nd) Sam McKinnon competed in the Junior Olympics Qualifier fencing tournament. At this event he placed third and qualified to fence in the 2007 Junior Olympics in February in Denver, Colorado. Congratulations Sam!

Thanks again for your attention and continued prayer. May the gracious God and Father of our Lord grant you peace and fill you with His Holy Spirit.
