Coming Events and Continued Concerns...
JOHN DWYER TO WRITE OKLAHOMA CENTENNIAL HISTORY - In an open letter to Coram Deo Faculty, Staff, Parents and Students; John Dwyer announced he will likely move to Oklahoma as he undertakes the honor of writing the centennial history of the state of Oklahoma. His full text letter is posted as a news item on our website. Godspeed John, you will be missed and we look forward to sending you off in style.
2006-2007 SCHOOL YEAR - Information regarding re-enrollment and other announcements for the next school year (2006-2007) was mailed via e-mail last year and you can link to it on our web site. One important item that goes along with that message is that CDA is now taking applications for tuition assistance for the 2006-2007 school year. If you would like to be considered, please go to the following link for instructions on how to apply.
CDA NEEDS - Thank you for the many of you that have shared your blessings with us. There are always things we can use around the school. If you can help, contact me (brector@coramdeoacademy.org):
- Parent helpers - volunteer help is always welcome, especially those who can give teachers a break by watching students during lunch
- Computers - If you've recently upgraded, your "old" machine might be great news to a teacher.
- Lapboards - Our new stadium seating is great, but these would help.
- THANKS to Mija Lee for catering our most recent faculty meeting - I greatly appreciate the help with refreshments for our faculty meetings.
CDA STUDENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT - I am happy to pass along information about Coram Deo student involvement in other community activities; please send me an e-mail for inclusion.
- CDA mom Lisa Trigsted would like help organizing a Spring Formal. While this is not a school function, a number of CDA students attended a similar event last year. She is gathering helpers and ideas via email for now and a meeting will be organized soon! To volunteer help and ideas please email her at lmtrigsted@verizon.net.
- CDA Soccer Coach Tim Minich is also the Head Counselor at CampKiowa. He would like to invite all CDA students to consider CampKiowa’s summer and off-season offerings. CampKiowa is an overnight summer camp that offers both enrichment programs and the fun and spirit of a traditional camping experience. Located at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas; CampKiowa’s offerings and options are too numerous to mention here. Please contact CampKiowa at (940) 239-5126 or info@campkiowa.com to arrange a home visit with your family. Also, please check their web site at www.campkiowa.com for additional information.
- Beth Elaine Lipton will be performing in the ensemble section of the Youth America Grand Prix dance competition on Saturday, Feb. 4th. She will also be performing a contemporary solo. The competition will be held at the IrvingArtsCenter and more information can be found at the Grand Prix website.
Thanks again for your attention and continued prayer. May the gracious God and Father of our Lord grant you peace and fill you with His Holy Spirit.
Bill Rector
