FOOTBALL, COLOR GUARD, YELL CLUB AND PEP BAND!
The Lions are roaring through their season under the coaching expertise of Rodney Haynes and his assistants.  We are very thankful to have such good and godly men come to help our boys each day.  Last night, the Lions once again took the field and outscored their opponent!  But the thing I was most impressed with was after the game, upon coming off the field, the Varsity and Jr HIgh team crossed paths, congratulating one and wishing the next well.  Then most stayed to the see the next game showing that a small school can make the best atmosphere for a fun evening.  It was a pleasant evening and fun for everyone who attended.  Plan your next social evening at a Lion's event!

We also showed off our first ever COLOR GUARD at the high school game.  Thank you, Daniel Gregory, for the organization of that special addition!  Great Job!

A big THANK YOU to the newly formed and wonderfully successful YELL CLUB!  Contact Rhonda Tidmore for information.  Good job students!  It was lots of fun following your lead and cheering on the CDA Lions!

Also a great big THANK YOU to the PEP BAND.  Football games are so much more fun with the cheering and playing of the band as they support the football team on the field and rally the crowd by playing fight songs and crowd pleasers!  I personally liked the Pink Panther.

If you weren't there ... plan to come to the next CDA event.  It was a beautiful evening and fun for all!

DEO IN THE PARK
Jill Nelson and others are already planning for the second annual DEO IN THE PARK!  Contact JILL if you can help.  Set aside NOVEMBER 3rd (Nov 10th rain date) and come to bid on the auction items and have fun at the booths.  The food is great and the followship can not be beat!  I am already excited and look forward to seeing you there!

Parents' Sponsored Internet Safety Workshop
Fliers were sent home this week about the parent-sponsored internet safety workshops.  There is one for parents only, followed by one for students (6th grade and above).  The dates are correct and already on the CDA calendar, however the flier should have stated THURSDAY, not Saturday.  You can print a new flier by visiting the teacher document page on CDA website, P Dwyer's account.  Plan now to attend.

Health Requirements:
I need to remind everyone about the health requirements in place for this school year. Many of you have taken care of this but some may still need to do so.

If your child has had changes in their immunization record this year, please plan to send the new copy with your child to school for their records.
Grades 6 and 9 – All incoming students to grades 6 and 9 (new or current) will need to provide the school a record
of a spinal screening. We have forms posted on pdwyer's document page at the CDA website.  A note from the doctor will also be fine.  Contact Mrs. Perry at the Flower Mound campus if you have any questions.
Grades 1, 3, 5 and 7 – All students entering grades 1, 3, 5 and 7 will need to provide the school a record of vision and hearing screening.  The official date of admission for all new students is the first day of the school year, August 22.  A link to the forms can be found on the CDA website.  Click on Admissions, go to parent/student handbook, and select health requirements.  In those paragraphs you will find a link to the forms. Also, your doctor’s office should have vision / hearing forms.

STUDENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
If you have a busy student who is excelling and participating in some event, send me the information so I can tell others about your child!  Students at CDA are GREAT!
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!  Have a great and restful weekend!
