Testing Week Information, Math Olympics, 8th Grade Meeting
Math Olympics
Spanning the World Wide Web and Saxon Math to bring you the constant variety of Mathematics…
the thrill of square roots…
and the agony of long division…
the human drama of academic competition…
this is CDA’s  Math Olympics!

Date : February 27 and 28 at both Carrolton and Flower Mound Campuses.

This year, we will hold Number Sense and Mathematics competitions.

Number Sense is a 10 minute, mental math competition.
Mathematics is a 30 minute, multiple choice test.

Please complete the entry form that was sent home for your child to compete in this event.
The form is also available on Mrs. Lester’s Teachers Docs on the CDA website.

You can also enter by emailing her directly at jlester@coramdeoacademy.org.  In the email, specify which events you would like your child to participate in.

Competition will last approximately one hour, in the afternoon each day after testing is complete.

There is a $2 entry fee for each child to cover the cost of prizes.  Please turn in the entries by Feb 26.

Testing Letter, Math Olympics entry, and CDA Brochures will be sent home with students this coming week.  Please look in backpacks for the information.  Please use the brochures to tell friends and family about CDA.
The same information will be posted on pdwyer’s teacher’s document page – just in case you don’t find your copy in their backpacks.
Testing Week: Feb 25-28
8th grade meeting for high school requirements: Afternoon of Feb 25/26
Math Olympics: Afternoon of Feb 27/28

Student will watch a movie during the afternoon of the testing week.
The letter that you will receive next week (Monday/Tuesday) will go into more detail. Please read it carefully.
You are welcome to pick up your student early (after 12:15 please). Private time with your middle school aged student is always worthwhile. Please sign out your student in the Logic/High School office before coming to pick them up in the gym.
8th Grade Meeting for High School Requirements
8th graders and their parents will meet with Mr. Lemley and Mrs. Schaefer about high school requirements. Parents must attend with their students. The meeting will take place in the fireside room of the Grammar School at 1:30 on Feb 25/26.   Please come and take advantage of the information.

Screening Days
This week we screened students for scoliosis, vision and hearing (request form must have been turned in for the student to be called from class). The screener will return in March for those students who need to be re-screened or were absent. If your student missed their screening, please contact Ellen Perry at the school. Thank you.
Tuition Assistance
Tuition Assistance is available for families of CDA.  Please check the addmission website for more information.  The request is confidential and dealt with by a third party.  All paper work needs to be completed by March 1.
