Speech Tournament, Spelling, Testing and One Last Basketball Game!
Testing Week
Feb 25-28 is the CTP4 testing week of CDA for 5th-9th graders.  Please read the letter sent home.  For an additional copy of the testing letter, please visit the CDA website, teacher's document, pdwyer and click on "CTP4 Testing Letter"

Moms and Daughters Basketball Game
In one of the most exciting games of the season, the moms and daughters of CDA played each other. The daughters fought hard and pulled off the win (by only 3 points). Go daughters! The moms had a great time too and are anxious for a rematch – just as soon as some of them learn to dribble and shoot. Of course, the “refs” were sons of the moms and that helped too! A big “Thank You” to Molly Manning who played on the “moms” team. The “moms” team included Kari Dingler, Angie Stevens, Stephanie Deal, Polly Dwyer, Tonya Henderson, Jill Hawkins, Suzanne Manning, and Julie Tally. The “daughters” team was our fabulous Logic School girls basketball team!  Go Lions!

Spelling Bee Results
Judy King and Joan Lester, along with parents, attended the Denton County round of the Scripps/Dallas Morning News National Spelling Bee held on the evening of Tuesday 2/19, to cheer on our Coram Deo Logic school spellers.  We were well represented.  Ellen R and Jack H (both 6th graders) were spelling for the Flower Mound Campus.  Sara B(grade 8) and Krista P (grade 7) were there for the Carrollton Campus.

Krista P advanced to round 2, Jack H advanced to round 3, Ellen R to round 5, Sara B to round 6.

After some challenges over the words “mnemonic” and “arduous”, the Bee finished on Round 19, with the winning word – “epochal”.
CDA students made a fine effort and represented our school well.  We are looking forward to another chance at the county title next year!
Great job Spellers!

Adventure of a Lifetime
Parents and staff are receiving an Adventure of a Lifetime brochure about Coram Deo Academy that is sized to fit in a pocket or purse. We encourage you to give these away and come back to the office for as many more as you need. Just as you make decisions by talking to trusted friends and opinion-leaders who know something about a product or service, we know that others will choose to enroll based on information from enrolled families, faculty and staff.  Please help share your journey at Coram Deo Academy with those you know who might be interested in learning about a classical, Christian education.

Do you know of others who may be interested in classical Christian education and the CDA model?
Coram Deo Academy’s admission and school directors are available to speak at homeschool support groups, MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), Preschool PTA, church study groups, and so forth. Please contact Barbara Rogers at brogers@coramdeoacademy.org if you have a connection with any such organization. We welcome the opportunity to share about education in the presence of God.

Student in the Spotlight
David C, 6th grade M/W, recently advanced in his tennis accomplishments.  He has moved up the rankings from a ZAT player (Zone Area) to a Champs player and now to the Super Champs level, where he can begin to accumulate national ranking points.
We are proud of him and want to recognize him as a CDA student who is excelling in tennis. Great job, David!

Don’t forget to sign up for electives!
Have a great weekend.
