Do you view your cup as half-full or half-empty? Do you always consider the silver lining around the cloud? Do these uncertain times concern you? Economics, social issues, and public pressures all play into our feelings. However, we have reason to be filled with peace, joy, and generosity at this time. We know the end of our story. We know that our lives are complete in Christ. We have all we need. People should wonder why we are joyful. We are joyful because we are loved by our Savior. We are peaceful because we know Christ will take care of us. We are generous because none of what we have truly belongs to us – not our time and not our money. Christ fulfills ALL our needs. We are His. Our cups are not half-full or half-empty. They are overflowing. Our clouds do not have a silver lining. They are brimming with gold. Glorify God this week.
There are also many basketball events to attend as well. Come and see your fellow CDA families. Have fun at a CDA event!

Now you can raise money for CDA and for your tuition at no extra cost!
Introducing the “CDA Scrip Program” where you buy gifts cards for virtually any merchant that you use now. Scrip returns 2 to 17 percent of the total purchase to CDA. Use these cards just like cash for your usual purchases and then share in the rewards. One half of the reward goes toward your family’s tuition account and the other half goes to CDA. For details please read the CDA Scrip Program document on Mrs. Dwyer’s teacher docs or contact Karla Ebensberger at ebensberger@tx.rr.com. Deadline to submit your first Scrip order is Wednesday, November 19th; the deadline for the second pre-Christmas order is Friday, December 5th. Allow 3 days to complete your Scrip enrollment prior to placing your order.
Next are the “Found Coins” programs where money and merchandise are earned from your regular shopping, product labels, and recycling. All you need to do is sign up, use an internet portal for your online shopping, link your grocery card to CDA, collect labels, or just look around the house for those obsolete electronics. You’ll be amazed at the range of merchants represented by these programs. To start generating funds for CDA right now (at no cost!), please see the Found Coins document on Mrs. Dwyer’s teacher docs or pick up a Found Coins booklet at the office.
Remember, you can even “double dip” by using the Scrip gift cards to buy merchandise from “Found Coins” merchants. For example, make your amazon.com orders work for you and CDA – buy amazon.com gift cards and then start your shopping at the onecause.com portal. Or buy Central Market gift cards and present your Foodie card at check out. (Central Market Foodie cards are now available at the Grammar School and High School offices.) So many ways to raise funds for CDA at no extra cost!
Outstanding Student at CDA
Stanislav N. (9th grader at CDA and ICAF Youth Board Member) Third Arts Olympiad Finalist from Texas and the Texas Delegate to the World Children’s Festival spoke to approximately 1000 people from 69 countries at the World Cultural Economic Forum in Louisiana in October of this year about how culture is transmitted through creativity and the importance of it in his own experience. Only nine other students were invited to speak. Stanislav was the youngest speaker. Thank you for representing our school and our state at such an important event.
