Steve Lane, a football coach with 36 years experience in public and private schools, will be the head football coach. In 2002, Mr. Lane coached at Southlake Carroll when the Dragons won their first 5A state championship. Certified to teach English, math, and physical education, Lane is a literature major who loves to read. He has been a leader in the Fellowship of Christian athletes at several schools. He is committed to Christ and to teaching young athletes how to be men of God on the field and off.
Victor Lemley, current dean of students at Coram Deo Academy High School of Flower Mound, will add coaching basketball to his schedule this fall. He has seven years experience coaching basketball, played college ball and was an all-state basketball player in high school. A frequent challenge issued at CDA High School is to compete in a free-throw contest against Mr. Lemley, who is known to be hard to beat.
“We are excited to have these experienced coaches join the athletic program,” said Donnie Brake, CDA athletic director. “We are pursuing excellence in athletics and these men are opening a new chapter on that path for CDA.”
