[Flower Mound, May 10, 2006] Excitement for combining two school locations on Coram Deo Academy's 15-acre campus at 4900 Wichita Trail is motivating a recently formed CDA Capital Campaign Committee. Cochairmen are parents Chad Hennings, former Dallas Cowboys' football player, and James J. Mahoney, Doctor of Osteopathy and founder of the Center for Hope and Healing in Southlake. Committee members include David Beardsley, Connie Crowley, Matt and Karen Drennan, Dave Juring, Bill Massie, Chuck Neal and Megan Pigott.
"Cultivate Today – Transform Tomorrow" is the theme selected by the committee for the campaign, which will raise funds to finance building a new secondary school on the property and provide for athletic program facilities. It is anticipated that the campaign will be formally announced this fall.
"We are blessed to have this fine leadership team," said CDA Headmaster and President Rodney Marshall. "Their optimism and commitment are well-suited for this project."
The Flower Mound Town Council recently approved the site plan for CDA, so that two temporary buildings could be moved to the property to house the Upper School students for three-years. CDA will relocate 135 students from the Upper School, who are currently housed at rented facilities in Highland Village, to the campus sometime this fall. Educating students in kindergarten through grade 12 on one campus is required for CDA to be accredited as a K- 12 school by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Coram Deo Academy offers a unique parent partnership model, where students are in school half-time and work under the tutelage of their parents at home half-time. High school students have the option to attend five days per week. Coram Deo Academy is a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools and participates in TAPPS academic, athletics and arts competitions.
Coram Deo Academy educates youth in an historic Christian worldview through a rigorous classical curriculum. CDA offers a thoughtful approach to a renaissance in classical education and works to train ethical leaders and wise thinkers who will shape culture for the glory of God. Coram Deo locations also include One Nelson Parkway at 2400 FM 407 in Highland Village, 2435 E. Hebron Parkway in Carrollton and 12727 Hillcrest Rd. in Dallas.
