Athletic Booster Club
Dear Parents,

We are finding out, and confirming, that our kids are no different than we were as students. They want some of the same things we all long for: a sense of belonging, a feeling of community, and meaningful relationships that will last. Some students gain this experience when they watch their classmates participate or while they participate themselves and parents gain this experience when they watch their kids and those of family friends. The fact is that in one way or another; athletics touch every student and family in the school and provide a great forum for many of life’s lessons. Fortunately, in addition to working hard in the classroom, our kids love the challenge of athletics.

As you all know, we are in the midst of a capital campaign to fund the building of classrooms and athletic facilities. Not only do I encourage all of you to do some soul searching about how you will contribute financially to this effort, but I submit to you that the athletic department needs your help to continue to move towards excellence. I am speaking of participating in the Athletic Booster Club. I am not speaking of just contributing financially, but rather putting your talents and time to work to make our athletic program the best it can be. The athletic program is not the most important part of our school, but it is a vital part of the maze of programs and activities that make up the whole of student life at CDA. We have the opportunity to do more, we can get involved.

You may not be able to coach or schedule games, but you can contribute somewhere in the organization of the Booster Club. Maybe as an accountant to help us keep the books straight, maybe as a person who makes calls or puts programs together or runs concessions or keeps the gate. Perhaps coordinate an annual fund raising event. These are just a few of the many opportunities. Space and time do not allow me to provide all the detail of how and why the Booster Club needs you.

Please be prayerful about how you can become involved and then come to the Booster Club meeting immediately following the football meeting scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night the 13th of March. We will begin the Booster Club discussion about 7:30. Your family does not have to be involved in football to be involved nor do you have to have students in high school.

Sincerely,
Marc Dingler
