Please tell us the primary reasons you desire your child to attend CDA

We know why we started Coram Deo Academy and have articulated this through well thought out statements of Mission/Vision and Core Values. But I have desired to know why parents place their children from their perspective. When I conducted all of the entrance interviews up until a couple of years ago, I would informally ask. This unscientific approach provided insight into the values of an applyling family and into how they perceived the Academy. This year we included the question on our Application for Admission and received almost 1,000 responses. Please find below the top four reasons parents apply for admission to CDA.

1. Academic Excellence tops the list.
   “I like CDA's passion for the classical Christian education methodology.”
   – Kindergarten parent

   “I want my child to receive a rigorous, liberal arts education.”
   – 5th grade parent

   “Rigorous Academics”
   – 9th grade parent

2. Christian Environment comes in a strong second.
   “We admire the profoundly Christian environment at CDA and were struck at the information meeting by the sincerity of the staff and their obvious deep love for the Lord” – 6th grade parent

   “The enthusiasm of the staff is so refreshing. We want our kids taught by teachers that love the Lord and what they are teaching.”
   – 1st and 2nd grade parent

   “We desire our children to be educated in a Christian environment with the Word of God as a foundation for all learning.”
   – Kindergarten parent

3. The part time on campus schedule and parent partnering approach is also a very popular reason for application.
   “I like CDA's provision to allow a high level of parental involvement in our children's education”

4. Biblical Worldview could be included with 1 or 2 but we made it a separate category and found it to be important to parents as it is to us.

   “I am impressed with CDA’s philosophy of teaching from a Biblical world view.”
