CDA FM Musicians Earn High Honors
Congratulations to CDA Flower Mound freshman, Levi Robertson! At TMEA Area auditions on Saturday, Levi was selected 1st chair French horn and earned a seat at the TMEA 6A All-State Band.
Congratulations to CDA Flower Mound freshman, Levi Robertson! At TMEA Area auditions on Saturday, Levi was selected 1st chair French horn and earned a seat at the TMEA 6A All-State Band. Back in December, Levi competed against approximately 100 French horn musicians at the 6A division Region 31 event for a chance to audition for the All-State band. 6A is the largest and most competitive division comprised of the biggest public schools in Texas. Levi is one of only 15 ninth graders invited to join the 467 players who make up the 6A All-State Band/Orchestra.
Freshmen Katie Adler and Jacob Witt auditioned for the 3A/4A All-Region band made up of students from both private and public schools. CDA is a 2A classification in this competition, so these students were competing against larger schools. Katie placed 1st chair out of 50 flutes and Jacob Witt placed 4th chair out of 64 clarinets. They advanced as far as the North Area competition because of their high placement in the region.
